Table Decor & Remote Caddy

Here is a DIY remote caddy that doubles as a decorative centerpiece for the coffee table. For years I searched for a solution to our remote control problem. You know THE problem when you’ve decided to turn something on and you can’t find the remote control for the television. I went on a search to find a solution for this issue. However, I didn’t like anything that I could find. Wanting something beautiful and decorative, but also functional, I realized I was going to have to make something.

With just 2 items, I created this. All you need is simply a pencil holder and large foam flowers. I would normally go to Hobby Lobby for these items but I happened to come across both while I was at TJMAXX. So I was able to get everything I need from one place, and for under $10. Sounds like a great deal to me!

What you will need:

  • Pencil Holder
  • 3-4 Large Foam Flowers

These flowers were apart of a wreath that I found. I removed them from the wreath to use for this project.

Directions:

  1. One at a time, tightly wrap the stem of the flower around one of the metal rods on the pencil holder.
  2. Continue doing this until you have added all of the flowers.
  3. Adjust your flowers so that they look full.
  4. Place on your coffee table and use as a remote control caddy! Or as a really pretty pencil holder. Or for something else. I’d love to hear the different ways this is being used. Enjoy!
